On-Site Injury
If an injury or emergency illness occurs onsite, your primary responsibility is the welfare of your employee. Get help quickly by calling 911 or the numbers posted on the Workers' Compensation "Notice to Employees" flyer posted in your area.
All employees injured onsite must report to the Health Services Department for examination and treatment, as follows:

8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At other times, on holidays and weekends, report to the Fire Department. |
Make sure your employees know that you, as their supervisor, are to be notified as soon as possible about work-related accidents in which they have been involved.
Off-Site Injury
You should advise your employees that if a work-related injury occurs while they are offsite, they should go to the nearest clinician or medical group for emergency treatment. There, they should provide the name of the Laboratory as their employer, as well as their department and supervisor's name and telephone number.
If the injured or ill employee is not evaluated by the Health Services Department, the employee's supervisor must notify the Workers' Compensation Administrator in HSD, 1-925-424-4499, within one working day after learning of the possible work-related event. HSD will then initiate the Workers' Compensation processes as appropriate.
